No on the Artisan Production and Custom Manufacturing

No on M0.5

No On Downzoning

Dear Property Owner:

Take Action

This is to Notify you of the proposed LA County Regional Planning Department changes to the county use codes with the creation of the M.5 Zone Artisan Production and Custom Manufacturing.

If this proposed downzoning were to pass, typical M-1 industrial uses will no longer be allowed. The County has come up with a brand-new and untested category called Artisanal Manufacturing which is not the highest and best use.  All existing uses no longer allowed by the downzoning will be required to close within 4 years.

The County of Los Angeles has recently sent the one and only notification to you of this proposed change to the Zoning of your property. This change significantly affects the uses that will be permitted for your property. We have attached several links to the proposed regulation for your reference. You have 75 days to make comments on these proposed changes. Any legal challenges you wish to make later will be limited to these comments. If your business is one of the many that will no longer be allowed in the area affected, or be subject to a review process, Conditional Use Permit, or Site Plan Review you have a very limited time to comment on these changes.

The link below is the one provided for comments by the LA County Regional Planning office we would also suggest that you contact your LA County Board Supervisor or planning commissioner and make your voice heard.

Contact your supervisor and let her know.

To contact the regional planning department see the links below.

LA County has recommended that comments and discussions with them be done through these channels.

Additionally, the Draft Zone Change Maps are provided to make it explicitly clear what areas are to be rezoned.

We are planning a zoom meeting for all affected owners in the area in the near future, if you would like additional information, please send us your email address and contact information to
